Part of the series of Armenian Earths made by Rublev, a unique range of paints.
This ochre paint is a dark and rich brown in masstone. It doesn't display the pinkish undertones found in most yellow iron oxides which leads it to have a more 'golden' quality.
It's tints when mixed with white are creamy, yellow, browns similar to raw sienna tints but slightly warmer. Very suitable for a portrait palette.
A rare, unusual and highly authentic paint.
The pigment is sourced from deposits in the Kotayk province of Armenia.
Pigment - PY43/Iron Oxide Hydroxide
Binder - Linseed Oil
Opacity - Semi-Opaque
Drying Rate - Medium
This paint gives a lovely golden glow. Very pleased with my purchase and the prompt delivery.
Another wonderful Earth from the masters Natural Pigments! I wouldn't say this hue is a must on the palette but once you've tried & used the paint then the quality becomes obvious. For anyone who loves using Earth colours then this is well worth a try, highly recommended.
