Cobalt Chromite Blue - 50ml

The consistency of this paint is very similar to Natural black oxide being thick & very long & stringy & almost tar like. Try taking a little out of the tube with a palette knife & you'll see a strand of paint between tube & knife stretching out like treacle. It really is Good advice to store your paints cap down, so when the oil separates it rises to the bottom of the tube. This will give you a thicker paint but this really isn't a problem as a little Oleogel will bring the paint back to a more usable consistency. This particular paint is quite different from most Cobalt Pigments, which are generally fairly weak tinters that are easily lost in many mixes. This is a very strong tinter & even used with the Chrome yellows, which are reasonably strong tinters, you need to be careful. Using a very small amount will give you some wonderful rich greens & mixed with the Earth Pigments some very interesting hues. Once again Rublev push the boundaries of top quality oil paint, they are the best! Highly recommend.
