Opulent is the word the that springs to mind when looking at this paint, such is the depth of the purple it looks almost like fur, if that makes any sense! Deep is an appropriate name you feel like you could fall into it.
The more you look the more the colour seems to shift from rich purple to the cool blue undertones and then to light purple. That shimmering aspect is in my opinion a sign of true quality in oil paint, it means the colourman has milled the paint to maximise the inherent qualities in the pigment rather than creating a certain homogeneous viscosity and when done right it shows!
It provides coolish lilac tints and paints quite long (not too buttery).
Impossible to mix from different hues, this single pigment violet belongs on almost all palettes. Being single pigment and cobalt based means it dries relatively fast.
