A useful white being transparent but without large amounts of Zinc which could make it brittle over time.
It is rather loose and fluid in consistency and paints 'long', it is warmer than Titanium and a much gentler tinter. I don't think this would be a standalone mixing white but it has a place for certain applications such as glazing.
In some ways it has the quality of Lead white but without the density.
I am looking forward to using this alongside other transparent pigments where it will maximize their colour and vibrancy.
If you have never been able to find the 'right' white this may be the one as really it is quite different to any other white I have tried.
Rublev's description;
"Made with an organically coated white pigment based on a co‑precipitated compound of zinc sulfide/barium sulfate. It is a transparent white almost equal to zinc oxide in whiteness and holds a medium position in density between lead white and zinc white."
