Viridian - 50ml

£44.50

Classic viridian made with the pigment PG 18, displaying that unique blue/green hue. However this is a Rublev paint and therefore has handling and a pigment load like no other. Powerful.

A staple of portrait and landscape painters, if you want a cold, almost acid, green there is no better. It has a very clean appearance due to there being very little red within it.

Rublev's description;

"Viridian is a bright, bluish green that is remarkable for preserving its brightness in mixtures. The pigment is also known as verte de Guignet from the process he patented in 1859."

Rublev Viridian oil paint

I like this viridian very much. It has more body than Michael Harding's - which I also like, but this one covers so much more easily, its exiting to put on boldly. In this painting the darker greens are Rublev viridian, The rest is Michael Harding's - which has its place, also.
