Schwitter's Green - 40ml

£16.20

Named after the German artist Kurt Schwitters, an innovative and eccentric person, he was involved with Dadaism and Surrealism and ended his days in an isolated, draughty barn in Langdale, Cumbria, painting local's portraits to make a living - one of the real ones!

Anyway, onto the paint - summer grass for a subjective description, in masstone it is light green leaning toward yellow, fresh and clean. Would work very well on a palette in juxtaposition with a cold acidic Viridian, being almost opposite in terms of green.

Smoothly ground and texture of soft butter, in tints with titanium white, stands up well and provides a good range of ever lighter greens, although the beautiful and subtle edge of yellow is soon cooled by the titanium white.

I try to keep my plein aire palette as limited as possible but I will be giving this a 'run out' to see what results can be achieved when used against Viridian - will report back!
