I like Quinacridone pigments, powerful colours, clear transparency, non-toxic.
This paint utilizes two other transparent pigments, Nickel Azo Yellow and Transparent Red Oxide alongside the Quinacridone Red, this leads to quite an exotic red or burnt orange as per the description.
In masstone an almost deep blood red, once the transparency is allowed to show itself though the burnt orange element manifests, producing shifting deep orange red transparent hues. The thinner the paint is applied the more you get glowing oranges.
It is a pretty powerful tinter, and produces a wide range of vibrant, reddish, pinks. It could work well in a portrait palette as a contrast to the gentler red earths.
