Description
A fairly new colour from Michael Harding - Ultramarine Pink.
It is a single pigment paint based on PR259 and possesses many of the same qualities as its blue cousin ultramarine blue, except the hue!
In masstone it is a deep, dark purple hue, with that slight looseness in handling you can get with ultramarine pigments.
Once spread thinly, with a palette knife the white ground sends light back up through the paint film and it produces cool transparent purples, it is definitely on the bluer side and doesn't have that glowing pop of say a cobalt violet or a quinacridone purple.
The tints with white are coolish, pink purples.
Exceptionally good value paint with abundant glazing possibilities.
