Description
As the name suggests a transparent pigment of very 'clean' yellow oxide.
In masstone, a rather uninspiring raw sienna type hue, however, like most transparent pigments milled in oil, its true beauty appears once it is used thinly, or at least the light is allowed to bounce off the support and back through the paint, giving the illusion of the pigment glowing.
At its most transparent it displays warm yellows, deepening to rich oranges.
Powerful tinter, making delightful muted, creamy, orange browns.
All the transparent oxides are excellent oil paints.
