Orange Ochre - Scottish Coalfields - Reclaimed - 40ml

£16.20

Wallace Seymour's endeavour to produce the paints others would ignore or not be able to find, has paid off again!

The pigments in this series of paints are made from reclaimed ochres originating as a byproduct of the Northern coalmining industry. Having been cleaned, graded and refined to extremely high standards they have a colour purity really not found in any other earth pigment, while still being of the earth! There is nothing else like this anywhere, in either chroma or origin.

This particular ochre originates from central Scotland. In masstone a powerful, deep, orange brown, with a little transparency when used thinly. Once white is added, it's tints are delightful creamy browns. It has a lot of tint power for an earth!

Just tried adding in a bit of Burnt Sienna to get some more red in there and the mixes are superb flesh tones, this would definately work on a portrait palette.

Finely ground in linseed oil.

incredibly beautiful color, everything is very well packaged, the package arrives very quickly, I am incredibly grateful to James for this. I highly recommend trying this color, in the photo I tried to paint it in a thicker layer and more transparent. In my opinion, this ocher in a thin layer has a slightly pinkish tint. The paint is very pigmented, I highly recommend Wallace Seymour. this company is one of the best that I have ever tried, I highly recommend trying this company and this site! :)
