Naples yellow, the real one. Made with Lead Antimonate and used as a pigment since at least 500 B.C.
In masstone it is a muted, yellow, with a slight leaning to green. It is a really unique hue, one of which there is no equivalent.
Wonderfully dense in body it feels very good under the brush but it is not stiff and could be brushed out with a sable brush. It's tint power is good and the range of tints wide, they all have that muted look while still seeming vibrant. The tints are very soft, cool, yellows.
I would describe this paint as weird, wonderful and ancient, it's like a strange discovery from the practice of alchemy.

This is the real deal. Also called jaune d'antimoine this has a quality that is hard to come by. Love the density and opacity of this pigment for capturing a slightly warm Mediterranean or sun lit look. The paint handles and blends perfectly well to create smooth transitions on shades for a nuanced look.
