The Lapis Lazuli 'Giotto' oil paint from Wallace Seymour sits in the middle of the three shades of Lapis they offer in terms of hue, pretty much having a central postion in the blue spectrum not leaning towards green or violet.
Under the palette knife it feels like it has the most 'body' of the three and again has the slight grittiness of pigment (keeping the pigment size slightly larger offers the maximum colour). In hue it is the blue of the Renaissance and is instantly recognizable as such. Soft, earthy blue with a unmatched depth.
Slightly transparent in nature. In tints with white it makes a wide range of soft blues and has good tinting power.
Trying to choose between these three shades of Lapis will not be easy, they are all superb and each has it's own unique quality.
