A deep version of the pigment PV14. Beautiful violet tints when mixed with white.
Cobalt violet is a superb paint and hue, very hard to mix a clean equivalent from primaries. This is a paint where you really want the high pigment load which Michael's paints have.
It is clean and smooth. It is ephemeral and delicate like a flower, stunning blue violet mixes can be achieved.
I often mix it into orange in landscape painting to achieve seriously delightful greyish oranges.
Very much a favourite.
