Description

Citron is a single pigment paint from Michael Harding, based on the unusual pigment - PY175 - Benzimidazolone Yellow.

It is a transparent paint and the lemon reference is spot on, not a cold greenish yellow like a bismuth yellow, but a bright mid yellow with greenish undertones, so used thinly the colour presents quite differently to when used thinly and transparently - warmer when used thickly, cooler when used thinly.

A strong tinter with plenty of range, with white added, unsurprisingly the titanium white brings out the cooler side of the paint in tints, providing soft, cool yellows.

A really excellent paint for a Series 2 feels like it should be more expensive, along the lines of a cobalt or quinacridone, it has nuances and subtleties.
