Vert Vendome - 40ml

£24.20

Dark, dark green. This paint was inspired by Courbet according to Wallace Seymour, hence his intense self portrait opposite!

Probably the darkest green I have seen in oil paint, in masstone it is hard to judge the temperature due to the low value.

It is made from a blend of pigments, diarylide yellow, cadmium yellow, red iron oxide and Prussian blue. Once white is added the temperature is revealed! You can see the influence of the Prussian blue, it gives a range of strong, greenish greys, cool in nature.

Pretty powerful tinter, there's a wide range of tints, it 'eats' up Titanium white with no problem. The lightest tints have the appearance of Slate greys, and the blue seems to dominate more as more white is added.

Smoothly ground. Unique.
