Made from the pigment PR101, which is a synthetic iron red oxide, it is the same pigment which gives bricks their red colour. However PR101 comes in many different hues from almost purple to brick red.
This is classed as Orange Oxide and indeed it leans towards orange (but still very much an earthy, luminous red) to me the main difference between it and a transparent Red Oxide is it's higher value (lighter).
With the oxides their transparency is always useful and this too is transparent. It's tints when mixed with white are pinky, luminous, fleshy hues.
