A natural yellow oxide sourced from India. 

This is slightly unusual being an opaque and also quite dense in body. The denseness and opacity give it quite a high tint strength, so with white added it can create a wide range of steps from the masstone golden brown/yellow to quite cool, muted beige hues. 

It is possibly the darkest in value, yellow earth I have seen, and its density and opacity makes it an interesting paint. Apparently the opacity is due to a greater amount of Iron Oxide being present compared to a yellow ochre.

Simply the best Earths.

I agree with Joanna's review above. I also prefer Natural yellow oxide to yellow ochre whether in mass tone or tinted & the varying hues you can mix are outstanding. The many different Rublev Earths are made from highest quality Pigments & can not be bettered. Go on treat yourself you won't look back once you've tried them.

A lovely yellow earth

Rublev’s Natural Yellow Oxide oil paint is a lovely golden earthy yellow – not overly bright but not dull either. It handles very well and I would describe it as opaque. When I purchased this paint I expected it to play second fiddle to a yellow ochre, but it’s now my favourite yellow.
