Despite it's name, to me this is a midrange Cadmium Red, equivalent in hue to a 'normal' Cadmium Red, essential on most painter's palettes. However unlike other Cadmium Reds this is extremely rich in pigment with no fillers, leading to an intensity which really would be hard to surpass.
It is tough, opaque and luminous as with all Cadmium pigments. It produces some wonderful muted colours when mixed with complementaries.
Perfect for painting with on a rainy, cold day brings a bit of Australian sunshine into your studio.
