Another unique French umber from Rublev, it is a noticeably cool umber, with strong bluish undertones.
Amazingly different from the Michael Harding burnt umber, all umbers are not the same! It is a wonderful in cool, rich, layered shadows. Rublev's description;
"French Burnt Umber is a semi- transparent deep brown with good tinting strength, medium grained and brushes "long" in the direction of the brush stroke. Our French umber is from the quarries of Gargas and Rustrel in the heart of the Luberon Massif, the ochre country."
